Privacy
Your files: subtitle files you open with Subtitle Doctor are processed by JavaScript running in your browser. They are never uploaded, transmitted, logged or stored by us — we could not read them if we wanted to.
Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which tools people use. It is cookieless, sets no identifiers, does not fingerprint your device and cannot follow you across sites — we see aggregate counts, not people. We also use Google Analytics, which does set a cookie and does report to Google, to understand which tools people come back to. You can block it with any content blocker and the site works exactly the same. No subtitle content is ever part of any analytics event, because no subtitle content ever reaches the network in the first place.
No advertising trackers: there are no ad networks and no social widgets. The only third-party scripts are the analytics beacons above and the web font stylesheet.
Local storage: your theme preference (light/dark) is stored in your browser's localStorage. Nothing else is written to disk.
Carrying a file between tools: when you open a subtitle file, its contents are kept in your browser's session storage so the next tool can offer to continue with the same file instead of asking you to pick it again. Session storage is deliberate rather than convenient: it belongs to that one browser tab, it is never written to disk, and the browser discards it the moment the tab is closed. It is never uploaded, and the offer is always a button you press — no tool loads a file on its own. "Dismiss" on that prompt erases it immediately, and files over about 2 MB are never stored at all.
Questions about any of this: mail hello@subtitledoctor.com. There is no account to delete and no data of yours to request, because none of it ever reached a server here — but if something on this page is unclear or looks wrong, say so.
